From Single Mom to Real Estate Leader | Lisa Harris' 24-Year Journey

simpliSpeaking · 2026

A long-form conversation about single motherhood, building a career, leadership, and mentorship. The job was to prepare well, listen closely, and follow the story where Lisa took it.

What to watch for

  • Follow-up questions built from what she says
  • Pacing that gives the story room
  • Two-person video podcast production

Solo Storytelling

The Woman in the Van

Learn For 2.0 · Episode 002

It starts at a Costco gas pump, with a woman stretching the hose around her car and my quick judgment about why. Two words from a friend change how I read that moment, and a string of moments after it. An ordinary observation built into a story with a hook, a turn, and a payoff.

What to watch for

  • It opens in a concrete moment, not a thesis
  • The turn comes through someone else’s words
  • The lesson lands without preaching

How Everyday Agents Can Build Revenue Share Without Recruiting Experience

Agent Attraction Lab · June 2025

A multi-camera solo production I created and recorded in my home studio, using two cameras (an iPhone 14 and a Logitech MX Brio) for two distinct compositions: a tight direct-to-camera host shot and a wide shot of the full set, including the desk and microphone, lighting, practical lights, and plants.

Moving between the two angles gives an 11-minute solo episode visual variety and steady pacing. Post-production was handled by an outside editor.

What to watch for

  • How each frame is composed
  • The balance between key light and practical lights
  • How two angles keep a single host visually engaging

Production System

One Recording, Many Finished Pieces

Recording is where the work starts, not where it ends. This is the system behind Learn For 2.0, shown through one episode, “Nobody Shows You the Reps.” One long-form recording becomes a published video, a transcript and captions, a written story, copy for each platform, social posts, and a thumbnail built around the story.

  1. Recording
  2. Video episode
  3. Transcript & captions
  4. Written story
  5. YouTube & Spotify copy
  6. Short-form clips
  7. Social posts

“There’s way more post-production. I’m creating video along with the audio. Where am I putting it, where can people find it, what are my descriptions, what posts am I writing.”

The source: one solo recording, about 15 minutes.

02 · Transcript to story

Transcript

“And it’s just because he’s done it so many times. He’s had so many reps. All these YouTube videos show you how to do it, but they don’t show you the times he had to make a cut because something got in the way.”

Written story

Nobody Shows You the Reps

The mechanic was done in two and a half hours.

I came out to the garage half expecting him to still be setting up. He was packing his tools.

The written version isn’t a cleaned-up transcript. It’s restructured for a reader, with the spoken detours tightened and the story organized into sections.

Title options are written for different goals, each with its reasoning. This one shipped with the brand title.

04 · Description & chapters

My alternator went out, and I spent an evening convincing myself I could fix it off a couple of YouTube videos. Then I watched a couple more and decided I definitely couldn’t.

  • 0:00 A job that took two and a half hours
  • 3:20 The golf story: get out of your head
  • 5:24 The alternator and the YouTube rabbit hole
  • 6:50 Done already? The mechanic finishes
  • 10:27 Going back to episode 173
  • 11:30 The 173rd at-bat
Chapters make a long-form episode easy to navigate.

05 · Same story, different platforms

YouTube Community

The mechanic was done in two and a half hours.

He’d worked on Toyotas for 41 years.

New episode is about that gap. Not talent. Reps.

LinkedIn

I almost fixed my own alternator off a couple of YouTube videos. Then I hired a mechanic who’d been doing it for 41 years.

I’ve been thinking about that gap ever since, because it shows up everywhere.

Each platform gets its own version, not a copy-paste.

Final thumbnail: 173rd Attempt.
Every candidate frame was a talking-head shot, and the documented priority order ranks a portrait last. So the final thumbnail leads with the episode’s turn instead: the 173rd attempt.
